Yeah there are alot off differences. The 08s are much harder to get apart. Yeah the 08s aren't fluted like the 04-07s. But I love the look of the 08s better once they are modded

I went with a different route with this headlight mod.

I didn't do any sanding with this one. I just sprayed windex to clean the chrome areas, then some Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter clear primer and ultra black paint.

I used the same painting process with my current headlights and they have held up well.

I left a chrome trim on the side and bottom of the housing just to match it up with the rest of my truck's chrome trim.

Also, I went a little bit further with painting the housing. I also painted the floor of the inner chrome housing, the convex wall between the highs and lows and a little bit around the high beam housing.

By painting these areas, I'm hoping to reduce some of the glare produced by HID kits.

Yes I agree.. That little bit of the chrome trim makes it look a lot better... Good job!! Had a guy on ebay with 2 stock lights shipped for 80$ and then he didn't end auction in time and someone did buy it now.. Lost out on a good deal.. Need a set incase oven part don't go well...hahah

I put my headlights back on today. I'm not liking the flat black. Eventually, I'm gonna repaint them to a shinier back to match the body color.

It looks good when your painting the housing... until you put the lights back on the truck, then you realize how off the color looks with galaxy black.


So for future modders, go with a gloss black or color match. Flat black housing doesn't look good.

Finally put my headlights back on. I repainted it to a glossier black. I also tapered the chrome accent more towards the top corner.

Initially, I ordered an HID kit from DDM but their bulbs were too long for the internal components of the Black Magic lights.

Thanks to ArmaDen from ClubArmada.com for supplying me with the 5000K H3C HID kit.
