    Default Battery?

I need some suggestions and opinions on what battery's are good or not good.

Yellow Top Optima? Interstate? Another stock? LOL Keep in mind, I probably have a total of 2000-2200W running from my amps.

If anyone can shoot me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated. I am looking for a battery I can just drop back in and go.

    Thanks

Here is what I went with.

$212 back in '07, I think they go for around $300 now. Great battery!

Optimas or Interstate. The perks about Wal-Mart is if it ever dies out on you, chances are, you'll prob. not be that far from one to get it exchanged. They all come from the same place anyway...

Love my Yelow Top Optima. Less than $200 at Auto Zone and exact fit. It even works with the factory hold-down. It works well with the extremes of the Illinois summers/winters. We go from -10* temps in the winter to 100*+ temps in the summer. Hasn't failed me yet.

The good thing about an Optima or Odyssey is they are deep cycle batteries and can take the discharging that can happen with large stero equipment like you have. if you discharge a regular battery completely even once, it is toast. Get a good deep cycle. In your case the Odyssey is probably the best choice.

I do have a question about a deep cycle battery.
Are the charging requirements different from a regular auto battery? A regular battery takes a cranking discharge and recharges at a high rate that tapers off. I was wondering if a deep cycle battery would prefer a lower charge rate for a longer time?

I run the Duralast Yellow top battery from AutoZone, direct fit and it won't break the bank at $80
